Jovian
Skull sculpture made from a polymetallic mass dominated by pyrite, with a dark and striking appearance. Realistic sculpture with meticulous detailing of the teeth, eye sockets, cheekbones, and chin. Unhollowed, except for a slight recess at the back of the teeth, the skull retains a compact and dense structure.
At the top of the skull, the mineral reveals a naturally spiral and striated formation, reminiscent of the bands of a rotating planet, while the rear reveals the shiny cubic structures characteristic of pyrite.
This encounter between anatomical form and mineral organization gives Jovien a unique presence, inscribed in a reading that is both terrestrial and cosmic.
A video of this sculpture is available on the Karving12 YouTube channel.
This sculpture is made from a natural mineral whose physical properties influence the sculptor's technique, as explained on the Studio page.
